Habitat: Pinyon-juniper-oak woodland. Associated plants: Quercus hypoleucoides, Juniperus deppeana, Arbutus. Height: 15 ft. D.B.H.: 6 in. Common. Seeds thin-shelled to slightly thick-shelled. Bark light gray, rough, furrowed into scaly plates. Year old cones, Needles 2 and 3.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
