Habitat: Occasional in shrubland on sandy loam on loma on down-wind (NW) side of La Sal Vieja. Woody associates include Aloysia gratissima, Amyris madrensis, Bernardia myricifolia, Carlowrightia parviflora, Castela erecta, Celtis pallida, Condalia hookeri, Cordia boissieri, Croton cortesianus, C. incanus, Eupatorium azureum, Eysenhardtia texanus, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hibiscus martianus, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Koeberlinia spinosa, Lantana macropoda, Lycium berlandieri, Pithecellobium ebano, P. pallens, Randia rhagocarpa, Salvia ballotiflora, Zanthoxylum fagara.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
