Habitat: Common shrub along road across gravelly limestone upland at upper edge of saline flat. Vegetation a once heavily-utilized desert grassland now with considerable small mesquite and dominated by Machaeranthera pinnatifida, Lesquerella fendleri, Croton dioicus.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
