Habitat: Outcrops of red and grayish rock. Associates include Fouquieria, Opuntia imbricata, Jatropha dioica, and Forestiera on rocky fingers. Sporobolus airoides dominant in drainage. Erect annual growing in fine-grained soils in shade of Prosopis.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
