Habitat: Frequent in sparse vegetation on red clay of Quartermaster Formation. Associates include Allionia incarnata, Mentzelia cf. decapetala, Eriogonum jamesii, Mirabilis linearis, Hedyotis nigricans, Bouteloua curtipendula, Cevallia sinuata, Psoralidium tenuiflorum, Asclepia engelmanniana, Dalea formosa, Liatris punctata, and Chamaesyce fendleri.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
