Long and narrow, mostly emergent fen located west of the Raisin River. There are a few stand alone deciduous trees and shrubs and a few pockets of shrub-carr and decidous trees (birch, maple, sumac). Many streams present. Fen is well traveled with worn trails and several marked fence posts. Brush piles, old burn spots, and stumps mark an actively maintained fen. In mostly herbaceous area with some woody vegetation. Approximately 10 m west of the eastern woody edge of the fen, approximately 70 degrees northeast of Ives Road Fen sign. Several dead snags in the area and fallen logs in quadrat (2-3 layers), Solidago/Asteraceae and Equisetum in quadrat. Also seed heads from last year including some Lythrum salicaria. Surrounding area is dominated by ninebark, Asteraceae, and Zizia.
Population - not as prominent as Symphyotrichum firmum or other Asteraceae, several individuals in quadrat
