Habitat: W-facing rocky slope in mesquite grassland.
Associated Species: Fouquieria splendens, Prosopis velutina, Dasylirion wheeleri, Selaginella rupincola, Muhlenbergia arizonica, Bouteloua chondrosioides, Gossypium thurberi, Ferocactus wislizeni, Agave schottii, Trichostema arizonicum, Galactia wrightii, Ericameria laricifolia, Phemeranthus aurantiacus, Amoreuxia palmatifida, Ipomoea capillacea, Quercus oblongifolia.
Description: Perennial forb, 30 cm; leaves bicolor, glandular, edges rolled; bracts of flower heads white.
