Locality: United States, Colorado, San Juan, Just N of Sultan Creek. US 550 3.7 mi S of Silverton (550 jct); 2.7 mi N of Molas Pass. Turn N on dirt 2 track rd and park in subalpine meadow.

Habitat: Large meadow & ridges opening in spruce forest. W-facing 10 degree slope with 90% vegetation cover. Areas with lichen covered ground.
Substrate: Granite
Associated Species: Grasses, Anemone, Dugaldia hoopsii, Sambucus, Potentilla argentea, Potentilla sp., much Solidago & Chrysopsis & Erigeron, Antennaria, and some clumps of 2 ft tall grass.
