Locality: USA, Arizona, Yavapai County, Agua Fria National Monument. West of unimproved road that branches north off Bloody Basin Road. Near outcrop ledge over a dry wash.

Habitat: Demidesert Grassland in hills of granitic soils and outcrops.
Associated Species: Acacia greggii, Achnatherum speciosum, Adenophyllum porophylloides, Aristida purpurea, Ayenia filiformis, Berberis haematocarpa, Bouteloua eriopoda, Calliandra eriophylla, Echinocereus engelmannii, Encelia frutescens, Eragrostis lehmanniana, Eriastrum eremicum, Erica inflata, Erigeron divergens, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Erodium cicutarium, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Krameria erecta, Lotus rigidus, Melampodium leucanthum, Mirabilis bigelovii, Muhlenbergia porteri, Opuntia chlorotica, O.engelmannii, O.phaeacantha, Panicum hallii, Plantago ovata, Plantago patagonica, Porophyllum gracile, Psilostrophe cooperi, Senecio flaccidus, Tridens muticus. At nearby spring: Populus fremontii, Tamarix ramosissima, Baccharis salicifolia. At nearby outcrop: Keckiella antirrhinoides, Aloysia wrightii, Eragrostis intermedia, Digitaria californica. Morus microphylla, Salazaria mexicana.
Description: Shurb with yellow flowerheads, ahcenes without pappus, long hairs on margins. Locally common.
