Habitat: Upper alluvial slopes, hilly dissected terrain with thin (poorly developed) desert pavement on surface; south-facing slope of small canyon; sparse creosote bush scrub with Larrea, Olneya, Encelia farinosa, Echinocactus polycephalus.
Description: Scarce annual; consistently with small ochroleucous fls. Filaments 2-lobed at apex; bracts white in center.
